Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Untitled (Black) from London Series I by Robert Motherwell. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,940.42). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Motherwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work At Five in the Afternoon in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 12,690,000.00 (€ 10,874,035.99).
