Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Samarkand Stitches #I, from Samarkand Stitches (Gemini G.E.L. 1404) by Robert Rauschenberg was worth GBP 20,160.00 (€ 22,944.03) to a buyer in September last year. This price was achieved in the auction Evening & Day Editions at Phillips in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Rauschenberg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Buffalo Ii in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 88,805,000.00 (€ 79,652,883.67).
