Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Surface Veil #3 by Robert Ryman was sold in the The Macklowe Collection auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,683,500.00 (€ 1,568,819.31). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Ryman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May last year with an auction result of USD 20,141,250.00 (€ 18,769,220.02).
