Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Untitled, for Lincoln Center Festival by Sam Gilliam. The price achieved of USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,970.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sam Gilliam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lady Day II in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 2,172,500.00 (€ 1,918,661.13).
