Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Doe by Sanyu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 10,000,000.00 – 15,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 10,650,000.00 (€ 1,264,383.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sanyu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Five Nudes in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 303,985,000.00 (€ 35,256,632.18).
