Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Sibirische Glasmetoriten I Siberian Glass Meteorites I by Sigmar Polke was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. It achieved a price of USD 3,498,500.00 (€ 3,260,180.78), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by Sigmar Polke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dschungel (Jungle) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 27,130,000.00 (€ 24,677,096.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sibirische Glasmetoriten I Siberian Glass Meteorites I von Sigmar Polke kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 3.498.500,00 (€ 3.260.180,78) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sigmar Polke auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dschungel (Jungle) im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.130.000,00 (€ 24.677.096,60).
