The work Portrait Of A Gentleman With A Hat, Formally Identified As Sir William Napier (1785-1860) by Henry Raeburn was sold in the Old Masters: Part II auction at Christies in New York in April 2016. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,750.00 (€ 20,758.67), 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Raeburn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Sir Evan Murray-MacGregor of MacGregor, 2nd Bt., K.C.B., K.C.H., 19th Chief of Clan Gregor, as a boy (1785-1841), full-length, in tartan, in a landscape in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 458,500.00 (€ 578,312.66).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman With A Hat, Formally Identified As Sir William Napier (1785-1860) von Henry Raeburn wurde im April 2016 in der Auktion Old Masters: Part II bei Christies in New York versteigert.
