Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November last year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session, which included the work Study for Bedroom Nude (folding screen) by Tom Wesselmann. Here, the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 132,300.00 (€ 128,160.42). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Wesselmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Great American Nude No. 48 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 10,681,000.00 (€ 6,864,395.89).
