Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Victor Brauner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in March last year. In the Collection André Mourgues, Alexandre Iolas et ses artistes auction, the work Compensation symbolique sold for EUR 176,400.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Victor Brauner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Indicateur de l'espace in May last year with an auction result of USD 945,000.00 (€ 880,626.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Victor Brauner erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Collection André Mourgues, Alexandre Iolas et ses artistes wurde die Arbeit Compensation symbolique für EUR 176.400,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Victor Brauner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Indicateur de l'espace im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 945.000,00 (€ 880.626,22).
