Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Talisman agissant pour Alexandre Iolas by Victor Brauner was worth EUR 37,800.00 to a buyer in March last year. This price was achieved in the auction Collection André Mourgues, Alexandre Iolas et ses artistes at Sothebys in Paris and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 10,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Brauner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Indicateur de l'espace in May last year with an auction result of USD 945,000.00 (€ 880,626.22).

Die Arbeit Talisman agissant pour Alexandre Iolas von Victor Brauner war einem Käufer im März letzten Jahres EUR 37.800,00 wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Collection André Mourgues, Alexandre Iolas et ses artistes bei Sothebys in Paris erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 10.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victor Brauner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Indicateur de l'espace im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 945.000,00 (€ 880.626,22).
