Upper estimate price exceeded by 35 %.
In October 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Prints & Multiples: Part II, which included the work Bangalore by Walton Ford. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,450.00 (€ 8,180.40), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walton Ford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bitter Gulfs in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,445,000.00 (€ 1,059,384.16).
