Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wu Guanzhong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. In the Modern Day Auction auction, the work Tiger sold for HKD 239,400.00 (€ 28,945.20) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Guanzhong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Zhou Village in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 236,000,000.00 (€ 26,588,934.53).
