Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Dollhouse) (Peter Norton Family Christmas Project) by Yinka Shonibare was sold in the Contemporary Prints and Multiples Online auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 500.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 625.00 (€ 561.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yinka Shonibare achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Lantern Kid in December 2018 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 283,694.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Dollhouse) (Peter Norton Family Christmas Project) von Yinka Shonibare wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Prints and Multiples Online bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 625,00 (€ 561,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yinka Shonibare erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Lantern Kid im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 283.694,13).
