Upper estimate price exceeded by 26 %.
The work Sans titre by Zao Wou-Ki was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in February last year. It achieved a price of HKD 25,200.00 (€ 2,871.60), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zao Wou-Ki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 29.09.64. in May last year with an auction result of HKD 278,000,000.00 (€ 33,004,566.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sans titre von Zao Wou-Ki kam im Februar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 25.200,00 (€ 2.871,60) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zao Wou-Ki erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 29.09.64. im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 278.000.000,00 (€ 33.004.566,21).
