In May this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work Flasher by Dana Schutz. The »bidding war« ended at USD 114,300.00 (€ 107,283.65), 43% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dana Schutz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elevator in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 50,050,000.00 (€ 5,279,190.52).

Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flasher von Dana Schutz zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 114.300,00 (€ 107.283,65) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dana Schutz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Elevator im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 50.050.000,00 (€ 5.279.190,52).
