Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Joy Adenike by Amoako Boafo was sold in the 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in June this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 252,000.00 (€ 293,284.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Amoako Boafo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hands Up in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 26,650,000.00 (€ 3,018,669.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Joy Adenike von Amoako Boafo wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 252.000,00 (€ 293.284,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Amoako Boafo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hands Up im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 26.650.000,00 (€ 3.018.669,38).
