Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Dana Schutz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in May last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work Sneeze 2 sold for USD 277,200.00 (€ 258,317.03) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dana Schutz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elevator in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 50,050,000.00 (€ 5,279,190.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dana Schutz erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Sneeze 2 für USD 277.200,00 (€ 258.317,03) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dana Schutz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Elevator im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 50.050.000,00 (€ 5.279.190,52).
