Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jordan Casteel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in February 2020. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work Mom sold for GBP 515,250.00 (€ 597,175.92) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 250,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jordan Casteel; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Crockett Brothers sold at auction in November 2021 with the realized price of USD 806,500.00 (€ 714,538.85).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jordan Casteel erzielte im Februar 2020 bei Christies einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Mom für GBP 515.250,00 (€ 597.175,92) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 250.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jordan Casteel; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Crockett Brothers im November 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 806.500,00 (€ 714.538,85).
