The charm of slow withering, still enticing.

The drawing shows a peony slowly fading. Its petals seem to dance, trying to catch the eye. Even though its time is almost over, it still wants to be noticed. Dressed like for a ball, with the scent of strong perfume — now, as it withers, it appears even more vivid and emotional.

In ancient Greek mythology, people believed that nymphs could transform into peony flowers to hide from human sight.

Softness in contrast to hardness, a quiet symbol of femininity. Black and white lines trace a form that is both botanical and deeply human.

Asters symbolize delicacy. In a bouquet with battercup, they were a quiet compliment to someone's charming behavior.
