Drawing on my background in graphic design and more than 20 years as an art director in editorial design, I explore the interplay between geometric structures and intuitive painting. Each painting develops through many layers: color, form, and line are applied, altered and reworked in numerous steps. Some layers remain visible, others almost vanish, yet all leave their mark on the final composition. Typography often appears in my work – not as readable text, but as pattern, adding another visual dimension. This process of combining, composing and reworking creates complex images in which structure and spontaneity are in constant dialogue.

Geometry meets gesture: images of change
Geometric patterns give her works stability, but are constantly set in motion by intuitive applications of color and gestural interventions: artist Isa Johannsen presents her solo exhibition Come Close in Hamburg. The opening reception will take place on November 7 at 6 p.m. in the Kesselhaus of the Ottensen District Archive.

Geometrie trifft Geste: Bilder vom Wandel
Geometrische Ordnungen geben ihren Arbeiten Halt, werden jedoch durch intuitive Farbaufträge und gestische Eingriffe immer wieder in Bewegung gebracht: Die Künstlerin Isa Johannsen präsentiert in Hamburg ihre Einzelausstellung Come Close. Die Vernissage findet am 07. November um 18 Uhr im Kesselhaus des Stadtteilarchivs Ottensen statt.
