Hello everyone! I hope you enjoy this more in-depth look at works from both my more recent creative period and some of my older, more classical pieces.
The artist Nikolai Sietz has been a member of the Hamburg-based studio collective Atelier Freistil since 2014 and of the artists’ association wattenbergArt since 2016.
His artistic focus lies in abstract expressionism. His bold use of large formats is particularly striking. Techniques such as etchings and drawings reveal realistic depictions. He creates abstract landscapes and dynamic worlds as well as surreal arrangements of figurative elements that can convey a message to the viewer. His works often contain stories and offer plenty of scope for the viewer’s imagination.
Quote from the artist:
"After many years of exploring romantic colour schemes within Abstract Expressionism, in my current creative phase I am increasingly using light as a stylistic device and embedding it within a geometric formal language. In doing so, my works are only ever a reflection of a prevailing state of consciousness when the flow of experience allows me to create something new that then, in the best sense, becomes inherent to the viewer."
