The artwork belongs to the series “Stay Loose,” created in 2021 as an homage to Joseph Beuys, and the poem "How to be an Artist,” attributed to him. Beuys guiding principle was: "Every human being is an artist.” In this respect, the poem provides insights into Beuys' thinking laboratory. On the other hand, my works enter into a dialogue with the poem and, with a wink, show what it takes to awaken the artist in every human being. The doubling of the female figure and her simultaneous negative and positive portrayal contributes to blurring the naturalism of the representation and reinforcing the meanings inherent in the image. Every picture is a lyrical approach to subjective visions, to something that lies beneath reality.

My works aim to provoke, generating uncertainty and doubt about reality. Through the digital overlays of my photographic images, something new emerges, born from the real yet detached from it. The digital merging of various motifs, the overpainting, blurring, doubling, or the simultaneous play with negative and positive representations are design tools that question the naturalism of the image. If what is depicted is no longer real, attention can shift to the content. My works focus on subjective perceptions and feelings that elude superficial tangibility. This allows for transcendent content, as a prerequisite for creating a space that transcends mere existence. In these works, my photos layer upon one another, becoming memories and visions. The titles of the images also contribute significantly to this process.

The artwork belongs to my series "When Life Became Elusive", which explores processes that challenge life through the dissolution of familiar female circumstances, the irritations that arise from this, and the necessity of coping with them to regain courage and hope. It is a series about change, about the disappearance of life and time, and the need to let go and embrace. It tells of a liminal state, still indeterminate, neither today nor tomorrow, neither happiness nor sorrow, neither real nor dream. It is a state to be endured, one that demands attention. For in all its transience, it continues onward, without accusation, without certainty, without beginning, yet not endless, without end, yet not aimless.

The works in this series tell stories about the walls we all carry within us. Walls that protect us or we wish to tear down. Walls that we continually encounter, that confine us, or through which we desperately want to break. Since these walls are as individual as we are, each piece addresses a different recipient, such as Celia, Tom, Lilith, or the hero within us. The degree of abstraction blurs the traces of reality in favor of an emotional-poetic interpretation of the significance of these boundaries. Thus, my photographic artworks become a reflection of a journey into my poetic and aesthetic engagement with our inner walls and an invitation to the viewer to explore both their own and our collective boundaries. The works are created through double exposures of various motifs and digital post-processing with overpainting.
