This price was achieved in the auction International Modern and Contemporary Art at Christies in Dubai and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 100,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abdul Hadi El-Gazzar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Construction Of The Suez Canal, which sold at auction in March 2014 for USD 1,023,750.00 (€ 743,086.30).
