The work Pohan yang bahagia (Happy Pohan) by Abdullah Ariff was sold in the IMPORTANT SOUTHEAST ASIAN PICTURES auction at Christies in Singapore in September 2001. The »bidding war« ended at SGD 15,275.00 (€ 9,500.08), 53% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abdullah Ariff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Hill Spring, 12th Milestone, Penang, which sold at auction in November 2012 for HKD 200,000.00 (€ 19,830.90).

Die Arbeit Pohan yang bahagia (Happy Pohan) von Abdullah Ariff wurde im September 2001 in der Auktion IMPORTANT SOUTHEAST ASIAN PICTURES bei Christies in Singapur versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von SGD 15.275,00 (€ 9.500,08) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Abdullah Ariff mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Hill Spring, 12th Milestone, Penang beobachtet, die im November 2012 für HKD 200.000,00 (€ 19.830,90) versteigert wurde.
