This artwork by Agus Suwage achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2008. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Self Portrait As Nero V sold for HKD 644,000.00 (€ 65,507.02) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Agus Suwage; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Impermanence Landscape sold at auction in April 2011 with the realized price of HKD 1,460,000.00 (€ 126,879.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Agus Suwage erzielte im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Self Portrait As Nero V für HKD 644.000,00 (€ 65.507,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Agus Suwage; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Impermanence Landscape im April 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.460.000,00 (€ 126.879,43).
