Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Albert Namatjira could be acquired at Christies in Melbourne in May 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction, the work Central Australian Landscape changed hands for AUD 7,170.00 (€ 4,189.20) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albert Namatjira achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mt Sonder, MacDonnell Ranges in April this year with an auction result of AUD 92,250.00 (€ 55,291.51).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Albert Namatjira konnte im Mai 2004 bei Christies in Melbourne für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS wechselte die Arbeit Central Australian Landscape für AUD 7.170,00 (€ 4.189,20) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Albert Namatjira erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mt Sonder, MacDonnell Ranges im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 92.250,00 (€ 55.291,51).
