Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900, which included the work Knight, Death and the Devil by Albrecht Dürer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 60,186.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albrecht Dürer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christ Being Nailed To The Cross in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 874,000.00 (€ 806,868.54).
