Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Mangbetu Boy by Alexander Evgenievich Yakovlev was sold in the Russian Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in June 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 31,724.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Evgenievich Yakovlev achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Battle Of The Warriors in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 916,500.00 (€ 1,283,337.11).
