Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alfred Kubin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2020. In the The Artist’s Sketchbook: Where Inspiration Finds Form auction, the work Wilde Tiere (Wild Animals) sold for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,854.64) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Kubin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Der letzte König in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 525,000.00 (€ 429,272.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfred Kubin erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Artist’s Sketchbook: Where Inspiration Finds Form wurde die Arbeit Wilde Tiere (Wild Animals) für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.854,64) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Kubin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Der letzte König im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 525.000,00 (€ 429.272,28).
