Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Swedish In The Bedroom by Anders Leonard Zorn. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 429,000.00 (€ 488,515.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Anders Leonard Zorn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work "Söndagsmorgon" (Sunday morning) in December 2021 with an auction result of SEK 30,000,000.00 (€ 2,926,312.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Swedish In The Bedroom von Anders Leonard Zorn zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 429.000,00 (€ 488.515,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anders Leonard Zorn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit "Söndagsmorgon" (Sunday morning) im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 30.000.000,00 (€ 2.926.312,07).
