The work The lost kite by André Henri Dargelas was sold in the 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART INCLUDING OTTOMANS & ORIENTALISTS auction at Christies in London in June 2002. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 17,925.00 (€ 27,725.92), 49% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by André Henri Dargelas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French Le Tour Du Monde, which sold at auction in June 2009 for GBP 68,450.00 (€ 80,323.78).
