Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction The 10th Anniversary Irish Sale, which included the work A Flowerbank With Poppies, Harebells And Marigolds by Andrew Nicholl. The price achieved of GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,640.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andrew Nicholl - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poppies, cornflowers and daisies on Killiney Hill; Killiney Bay, Bray Head and the Sugar Loaf mountain in the distance, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 21,150.00 (€ 33,937.95).
