The work View of James Emerson Tennent's house in Ceylon by Andrew Nicholl was sold in the Arts of India auction at Christies in London in September 2005. The price achieved of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,283.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Andrew Nicholl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poppies, cornflowers and daisies on Killiney Hill; Killiney Bay, Bray Head and the Sugar Loaf mountain in the distance in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 21,150.00 (€ 33,937.95).
