Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Frances Burrell, facing right in crimson dress, her dark hair dressed in curls by Anne Mee was sold in the OBJECTS OF VERTU, PORTRAIT MINIATURES AND ICONS auction at Christies in London in December 2002. It changed hands for a price of GBP 282.00 (€ 432.88) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anne Mee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Captain And Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Grosvenor (1764-1851) in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 19,700.00 (€ 25,114.72).
