Auction result well in line with expectations
In February last year Sothebys in New York held the auction A Grand Vision: The David H. Arrington Collection of Ansel Adams Photographs, which included the work 'Poplars, Autumn, Bishop, Calif.' by Ansel Adams. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 8,980.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ansel Adams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion A Grand Vision: The David H. Arrington Collection of Ansel Adams Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Poplars, Autumn, Bishop, Calif.' von Ansel Adams zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.080,00 (€ 8.980,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ansel Adams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 988.000,00 (€ 807.849,55).
