Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ansel Adams could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in February last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the A Grand Vision: The David H. Arrington Collection of Ansel Adams Photographs auction, the work 'Rock Vein, Point Lobos' changed hands for USD 4,410.00 (€ 3,929.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ansel Adams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ansel Adams konnte im Februar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion A Grand Vision: The David H. Arrington Collection of Ansel Adams Photographs wechselte die Arbeit 'Rock Vein, Point Lobos' für USD 4.410,00 (€ 3.929,08) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ansel Adams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 988.000,00 (€ 807.849,55).
