Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 8,820.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antoine-Louis Barye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Angélique Et Roger, Montés Sur L'Hippogriffe (Bouche Fermée) [Seconde Version|AID1005825] in February 2016 with an auction result of EUR 237,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Singe monté sur un gnou (Ape riding a Gnu) von Antoine-Louis Barye wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Collection Jacques Ginepro, Une Vie de Sculptures bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 8.820,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antoine-Louis Barye erzielen.
