Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Christies in London held the auction Sporting & Wildlife Art, Including An Important Private Collection of works by Wilhelm Kuhnert and David Shepherd, which included the work Group portrait, including Edward Chester (1712-1767), owner of Cockenhatch, his brother, Peter (1720-1799), Governor of Florida, a groom and the clergyman of the parish of Barkway, Rev. William Andrew, full-length, in a landscape with hounds beyond by Arthur Devis. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,970.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting & Wildlife Art, Including An Important Private Collection of works by Wilhelm Kuhnert and David Shepherd durch, in der auch die Arbeit Group portrait, including Edward Chester (1712-1767), owner of Cockenhatch, his brother, Peter (1720-1799), Governor of Florida, a groom and the clergyman of the parish of Barkway, Rev. William Andrew, full-length, in a landscape with hounds beyond von Arthur Devis zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.970,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden.
