Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A view of Lake Como, Italy by Arthur Joseph Meadows was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,429.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Joseph Meadows achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Ducal Palace, Venice in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 16,730.00 (€ 25,877.52).
