Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sleeping Nude And Indian Rug by Avigdor Arikha was sold in the Israeli and International Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 56,720.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Avigdor Arikha - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nude On A Sheet, which sold at auction in December 2017 for USD 162,500.00 (€ 135,168.86).

Die Arbeit Sleeping Nude And Indian Rug von Avigdor Arikha wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion Israeli and International Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 56.720,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
