Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Zeus et Ganymede by Basil Rakoczi was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2004. It changed hands for a price of GBP 478.00 (€ 717.18) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Basil Rakoczi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fille Á L'Oiseau Exotique in October 2003 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 9,439.07).

Die Arbeit Zeus et Ganymede von Basil Rakoczi kam im Mai 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 478,00 (€ 717,18) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Basil Rakoczi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fille Á L'Oiseau Exotique im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 9.439,07).
