Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works by Benodebehari Mukherjee from the Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation, which included the work Mussoorie by Benode Behari Mukherjee. The price achieved of USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,709.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Benode Behari Mukherjee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Frying Fish in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 70,000.00 (€ 59,609.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works by Benodebehari Mukherjee from the Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mussoorie von Benode Behari Mukherjee zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.709,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Benode Behari Mukherjee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Frying Fish im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.000,00 (€ 59.609,98).
