In July this year Bonhams held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Il canto dela natura e' dentro di noi by Bertina Lopes. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 10,240.00 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bertina Lopes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ritratto, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 20,250.00 (€ 24,008.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Il canto dela natura e' dentro di noi von Bertina Lopes zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 10.240,00 und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Bertina Lopes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ritratto beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für GBP 20.250,00 (€ 24.008,65) versteigert wurde.
