Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Coal Miners’ Houses without Windows to the Street, Northern England, 1937 by Bill Brandt was sold in the MoMA: Bill Brandt auction at Christies in New York in January 2018. The auction ended at the price of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,023.17), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bill Brandt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Van Gogh'S Room In The Asylum Of St. Paul-De-Mausole (St. Rémy)' in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 265,000.00 (€ 170,220.97).
