This artwork by Camille Pissarro achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January this year. In the Old Master and 19th Century Prints auction, the work Rue Géricault, à Rouen sold for USD 5,292.00 (€ 4,873.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Camille Pissarro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Boulevard Montmartre, Matinée De Printemps in February 2014 with an auction result of GBP 19,682,500.00 (€ 23,879,608.50).
