Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Carl Vilhelm Holsøe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2019. In the European Art: 19th Century & Orientalist Art auction, the work Sewing at the window sold for GBP 56,250.00 (€ 66,480.92) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Vilhelm Holsøe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Artist's Wife sitting at a Window in a sunlit Room, which sold at auction in October 2015 for USD 167,000.00 (€ 151,240.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carl Vilhelm Holsøe erzielte im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European Art: 19th Century & Orientalist Art wurde die Arbeit Sewing at the window für GBP 56.250,00 (€ 66.480,92) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Carl Vilhelm Holsøe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Artist's Wife sitting at a Window in a sunlit Room beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für USD 167.000,00 (€ 151.240,72) versteigert wurde.
