Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shipping on the River Tyne, thought to be at Wallsend main image size 22.9 x 41cm (9 x 16 1/8in), overall sheet 35.5 x 44.4cm (14 x 17 1/2in). by Charles Edward Dixon was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October last year. The price achieved of GBP 701.25 (€ 816.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Edward Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Shipping on the River Tyne, thought to be at Wallsend main image size 22.9 x 41cm (9 x 16 1/8in), overall sheet 35.5 x 44.4cm (14 x 17 1/2in). von Charles Edward Dixon kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion.
