Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Looking Out To Sea by Charles Atamian was sold in the Russian Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in November 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,846.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Atamian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Armenian looking Out To Sea in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 58,850.00 (€ 71,567.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Looking Out To Sea von Charles Atamian wurde im November 2008 in der Auktion Russian Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.846,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Atamian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Armenian looking Out To Sea im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 58.850,00 (€ 71.567,08).
