The result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 45,549.27) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Leickert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work At the 'koek en zopie' in a panoramic winter landscape, which sold at auction in October 2007 for EUR 132,250.00.

Die Arbeit Belgian A Winter Scene von Charles Leickert kam im Mai 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 45.549,27) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Leickert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit At the 'koek en zopie' in a panoramic winter landscape beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für EUR 132.250,00 versteigert wurde.
