Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Peeling Potatoes by Charles Sprague Pearce was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 106,250.00 (€ 85,423.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Sprague Pearce - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Reading By The Shore, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 298,000.00 (€ 282,143.53).

Die Arbeit Peeling Potatoes von Charles Sprague Pearce kam im November 2014 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 85.423,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
